7th February

Nova AT2022abzg was spotted in M31 on November 1st 2022 by the XOSS team.
Kamil Hornoch reported the independent discovery of it on December 28th, announced in ATEL 15831
He had detection of it going back to September 25th.

I noticed that it had rebrightened to mag 18.2 on Feb 7th, whereas on Jan 31st it was undetectable.

There was some debate on TNS as to whether it was a nova or a star (TNS report)
Kamil Hornoch says it is a very slowly evolving nova with an unusual light curve.
I have been through my records to September 2023 and plotted a chart.

(A magnitude of 22 means undetectable on my equipment).

The object is displaying strange behaviour, The typical light curve for a nova is like this:

I will continue to observe the object.
